More about audiobooks on Yoto

What audiobooks can I put on a Yoto?

Two kinds. Free classics from LibriVox, the volunteer-read library of public domain books, which Little Vox sorts into 12 shelves for ages 0 to 14: Bedtime Classics, Heroes & Virtue, Courageous Girls, Boys of Grit, Adventure & Exploration, Classic Mysteries, The Family Bookshelf, Wonder & Creation, Moral Imagination, Faith & Formation, Founding & Freedom, and Dickens & Victorian. Search is there too. Our picks by age. And audiobooks you already own as files (MP3, M4B, AAC and more), picked from Files or iCloud Drive. Audible files (.aa, .aax) only play in Audible's own apps, so they can't be used. Where to find audiobook files that work

How do I put an audiobook on a Yoto card without a computer?

In Little Vox, pick a book and tap Send to Yoto. It goes into your Yoto library as a Make Your Own playlist, chapters in order with cover art, ready for a blank card. It all happens on your iPhone: no downloading files, no converting, no uploading chapter by chapter. Read the full guide: how to put audiobooks on Yoto

What if the audiobook is too long for one card?

A Make Your Own card holds about 8 to 9 hours, and no track can be longer than an hour. If your own audiobook file is longer, Little Vox cuts it at its chapter marks and spreads it across as many cards as it needs, and shows you the plan before anything is sent. Your file goes straight to Yoto and never passes through our servers. Yoto's card limits

What is a Little Vox Premium edition?

The same LibriVox recording, with the volunteer's introduction cut from the start of every chapter and the sound cleaned up and evened out, so the story starts the moment they press play. $1.49 per book, one time, no subscription. The free edition is always there too.
