By downloading, installing, or using Little Vox ("the App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Questions? Email support@littlevox.pro: a real person reads it.
By downloading, installing, or using Little Vox, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Little Vox is an iOS application that helps parents get audiobooks and narrated stories onto Yoto players. It has two parts:
- Audiobooks: browse a catalogue of public-domain audiobooks, or select an audio file you already have, and send it to your Yoto library.
- Family Stories: invite a narrator (such as a grandparent) to record a story through a shared web link, or record one yourself; the recording can then be sent to a child's Yoto player.
Little Vox does not play audio to children and is not a substitute for the Yoto app or player. It prepares and delivers content; the Yoto player is where listening happens.
3.1 Personal, non-commercial use
Little Vox is free to download and use. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
3.2 Premium editions
Some audiobooks are offered in a Premium edition: the same underlying public-domain recording, remastered and with the volunteer introduction removed. Each Premium edition is a separate one-time in-app purchase for that specific title. There is no subscription, no bundle, and no purchase that unlocks the App as a whole.
Premium editions are tied to the Apple Account used to buy them and can be restored on any device signed in to that account using Restore Purchases. There is no licence key, no device limit, and no activation to manage.
A free version of every catalogue title remains available without purchase.
3.3 What you may not do
- Copy, distribute, resell, sublicense, or transfer the App or any Premium edition to another person.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices.
- Use the App to provide a competing service or commercial product.
- Use automated means to bulk-download the catalogue or to place unreasonable load on our servers or those of Yoto or any other third party.
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable law.
Little Vox connects to third-party services to function. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms:
| Service | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution and all in-app purchases |
| Yoto | Signing in to your Yoto account and uploading audio to your Yoto library |
| LibriVox & the Internet Archive | Source of the public-domain audiobook catalogue |
| Cloudflare R2 | Storing prepared audio and temporary recordings |
| Vercel | Hosting our backend and the narrator recording web page |
| Fly.io | Running the audio processing that prepares Premium editions |
| Resend | Sending invitation emails |
Little Vox is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Yoto Ltd., LibriVox, or the Internet Archive. Yoto is a trademark of Yoto Ltd. Apple is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, any promotion run through the App.
When you use Family Stories:
- You are responsible for obtaining the narrator's consent to record and share their voice, and for confirming that the narrator is an adult or is recording with the permission of their parent or guardian.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any book or story content with the narrator.
- A recording link expires 7 days after it is created. Audio recorded through a link is held on our servers only as long as needed to deliver it to you, and is deleted after delivery.
- Recordings you have received are stored on your own device. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you wish to preserve. We do not operate a backup or archive service, and we cannot recover a recording once it has left our servers.
- Stories you record yourself in the App are stored on your device and are not uploaded to us at all.
- You may only upload, process, or distribute content that you own or have the right to use.
- Little Vox provides access to a catalogue of recordings that are, to the best of our knowledge, in the public domain in the United States. Copyright status varies by country. You are responsible for verifying the status of any content in your own jurisdiction before using it commercially or distributing it.
- A Premium edition consists of our own remastering work applied to a public-domain recording. We claim no copyright in the underlying public-domain work itself.
- We are not responsible for copyright infringement by users. If you believe material available through the App infringes your copyright, write to support@littlevox.pro and we will investigate and remove it where appropriate.
You agree not to use Little Vox to:
- Infringe any third party's intellectual property rights.
- Distribute malware or harmful content.
- Harass, threaten, or harm any individual.
- Record, send, or store content that is abusive, sexually explicit, hateful, or otherwise unsuitable for children.
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
7.1 Reporting content
Little Vox is used to prepare audio for children. If you receive a recording through the App that you believe is abusive or unsuitable, you can report it to us at support@littlevox.pro. We aim to review reports within 24 hours and may remove content, disable a recording link, or block a user from the service.
Because you choose who to invite, you can also simply delete a recording and decline to send it. Nothing reaches a Yoto player unless you send it there yourself.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
- Results obtained from use of the App will be accurate or reliable.
- Yoto's API will remain available or that uploads will always succeed.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by the law of your jurisdiction, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
All purchases are made through Apple, and Apple, not Little Vox, handles refunds. We are not able to issue, approve, or reverse a refund on your behalf.
To request one, use reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple's "Report a Problem" flow in your purchase history. Apple's decision is governed by the App Store Terms of Service and by the consumer law of your country.
If a Premium edition is not working as described, please still email support@littlevox.pro. We would rather fix the problem than have you go through Apple, and we can usually sort it out quickly.
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it, which also deletes the Yoto access token held on your device.
Upon termination, the licence granted in §3 ends immediately. Premium editions you have already purchased remain available through Apple's Restore Purchases, since those purchases are held by Apple rather than by us.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
For minor disputes, we encourage you to contact us first at support@littlevox.pro. Most issues can be resolved informally.
These Terms are between you and Little Vox only, not with Apple. Little Vox, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- Little Vox, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim relating to the App, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Little Vox, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the App infringes that party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted at littlevox.pro/terms.html with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
